"This was actually the first ever song we practiced as a band. Even though It wasnt typical of the other stuff I had, I wanted to start the set-list with a bang and this seemed a perfect choice. It always seemed to sound a lot bigger live than this recording ended up sounding which was a pity. I'm pretty sure I came up with this riff after being at a local gig and tried to work out an old K.I.G.H riff but I got it wrong and it turned into this. The lyrics were pretty angry for me at the time to, Its all about trying to find your own spiritual belief while belittling everyone else's at the same time. Lots of confusion." - Benj Squibbs
lyrics
(White riot! White noise!)
In the valley of death would you still call his name?
Or would you run and look for something else
When Nietzsche said that "God was dead"
He just meant that we were starting again
Follow blindly and if its right
It'll feel right in your bones
(We are the thieves in the night)
We are the ones who will start a war
You wont get out of here alive
(We are the thieves in the night)
We are the ones who will run away
You wont catch your god laughing at me
(White riot! White noise!)
You better pray that the rapture comes along real soon
Otherwise you'll be left out in the lurch
I believe in the devil and god the same
There's a devil. And the devil knows my name
Follow blindly, there's got to be somewhere greater than here
